History
The Dynamic Shooting Association has been active since 2003. We combine sporting competition, regular training and more than twenty years of experience in organising dynamic shooting.
ZSD is also a community of people brought together by shooting sport. From the very beginning we have placed the emphasis on safety, responsible ownership and use of firearms, developing skills and fair play — both at matches and beyond them.
The club is made up of people taking their first steps in shooting as well as experienced competitors who start in national and international matches, some of them as members of the Polish national team.
More than twenty years of ZSD
The history of ZSD began in 2003. That same year the club tied its fortunes to the former Austrian Fort No. 45 in Zielonki-Marszowiec, where the work of its members created the Twierdza (Fortress) shooting range.
Once the range opened, the club’s headquarters moved there as well. For the next eleven years Twierdza was a place of training, matches and meetings — and the sporting home of our club.
That is where we gained our organisational experience and developed the matches that in time became a recognisable part of the IPSC calendar. The first edition of Cracow Open was held in 2004 — a match that over the years became one of the most important events organised by ZSD.
The club’s activity at Twierdza came to an end late in 2014. ZSD first moved to the Pasternik range, but the years that followed showed that the club’s work need not be tied to a single place.
Since then we have held our matches at a range of different shooting facilities, making use of what each of them offers and working with their hosts. Among others, our calendar has taken us to Parzęczew, Starachowice, Drużbice, Przyszowice and Bochnia. Those ranges hosted further editions of our matches and series, Incorsa Cup included.
Venues, facilities and organisational conditions kept changing, and ZSD kept building its experience, putting on matches at shooting ranges across Poland.
ZSD today
Today we concentrate on practising and developing the shooting sport. We run regular training at several levels of advancement, teach new shooters, support active competitors and organise matches — from local competition to large IPSC events.
Our calendar includes, among others:
- Cracow Open
- Incorsa Cup
- Gatshop Cup — previously held as the Big Gun Cup
- Szalony Sylwek
- Wawel Dragon Cup
Over the years ZSD has also co-created other series and sporting ventures, among them the Małopolska League and the Slovak-Polish League.
Training and development
Regular club training is the backbone of how we teach, but we do not limit ourselves to our own sessions.
We also invite decorated competitors who share their experience with the shooters taking part. Over the past two years sessions for ZSD have been led by, among others, Piotr „POSIO” Sienkiewicz, Marcin Tausiewicz, Henryk Dąbrowski and Dominik Górski, following on from the training given in earlier years by the world champions Eric Grauffel, Saul Kirsch and Josef Rakušan.
Some of those sessions take place on full courses of fire left standing after major matches, so shooters can work not only on single elements of technique, but also on strategy, movement and the way they break down a whole stage.
This complements the everyday work of our training groups and lets competitors test their own solutions against the experience of the best.
A club that keeps growing
ZSD members compete in Poland and abroad. They represent the club as competitors, but also as range officers, instructors and organisers.
More than twenty years of activity have given us experience, but ZSD is not a club living on its history alone. We keep developing our training system, organising new events, working with partners and creating the conditions for the next generation of competitors to grow.
Experienced shooters train alongside those still preparing for their first match.
Because ZSD is first and foremost its people — and it is they who have been writing the history of our club since 2003.
